Went over to Long Island, New York. a few days early to train in the sun, it was fantastic! first race long Island 10K, up at 5.00am to get on the transport to take all the athletes to the start for 7.00am. Over an hour travel on a bus to and from the Marathon, race started at 4.30pm. Normal start times are early in the morning, weather was fantastic great road surfaces and well organised. Still a bit of the pace, have to up the training! time 1hr 47min, faster next time!!!

It was raining 1 hour before the race, stopped raining and dried up! As soon as i got into my chair to warm up the heavens opend up and rained until about 30min after the race, along with strong winds. 29min 05sec, a very slow time due to the weather, but a win is a win!Next race Switzerland 9th June Marathon.

Manchester 10k cold, windy and wet, but i love racing in the uk with the uk athletes 3rd place 23min .Aberdeen 10k my home town, very ,very windy almost blown out my chair 3 times 1st place 25min .Edinburgh Marathon, great weather, but realy tough course, 1st place 1hr 45min.

Another week to recover and try and get into better shape 85% getting there slowly? Seoul Marathon is a great race , good road surfaces , good marshaling , quite hilly. 9th place 1hr 36 min , done a lot better than i thought . Very pleased with my progress .

Boston came and went? Sick for the 2 week lead up to the race , so not in good shape for this race 75% fit. 7th place 1hr 35 min , 7 min slower than last year . It got me back in the chair and pushing which is the main thing.

Race starts 10.15 am , first 2 miles very fast over the bridge , 3 very tight corners then flat till the turning point , (very strong head wind ) With the wind behind me it was flat out for the last 6 miles 5th place 46 min 57 sec . tough race .

The LA Marathon is one of my favourite races of the year, getting away from the bad weather in Scotland, gives me time to train for a few days before the race.Very happy with 6th place time 1hr 37 min 55 sec .Look at the graph ,this is a very hilly race. Hard work?

Port Elizabeth was the first Marathon 12th . Out of bed at 3.30am on the bus for 4.30am , race started at 6.00am weather was very hot , course was good ,first 13 miles hilly then farley flat 2nd place 1hr 41 min ….George Marathon 18th race start 8.00 longer in bed that morning . Long hills takes all the strength out of you , but not steep enough to stop pushing on the way back …4th place 1hr 44

Australia 11th to 28th January - Down Under 06Training camp in Geelong , 1hr from Melbourne , up at 7.00am every morning training on the road then track at 4.00pm . And the sun was out every day .Move to Sydney on the 23rd for track meet and 10K road race, under the Sydney bridge .Masters division won 3 trophies 1st on track , 1st overall and 1st 10K 23min 12sec best time buy over one min in
